Open .md files from Google Drive
Google Drive shows Markdown files as plain text at best, and often can't preview them at all. QuickMark for Google Drive adds a proper viewer to Drive's Open with menu: right-click any .md file, pick QuickMark, and read it rendered the way it was meant to look, with GitHub-flavored Markdown, syntax-highlighted code in 35+ languages, tables, task lists, KaTeX math and Mermaid diagrams.
How it works
- Click Connect Google Drive above and allow QuickMark to open files you choose.
- In Google Drive, right-click a Markdown file and choose Open with › QuickMark.
- The file opens here, fully rendered. Switch reading and code themes from the gear icon, or download the
.md.
What QuickMark can see
QuickMark uses Google's most limited Drive permission: it can read only the specific files you open with it, never your whole Drive. The file is fetched straight into your browser and rendered there. Our servers never receive its contents, and nothing about your Drive is stored. Details are in the privacy policy.

This viewer is read-only. For writing, the QuickMark app for Mac, iPhone and iPad opens Drive files through the Google Drive desktop app or the Files app, with live preview, tabs, export to PDF and Word, and publishing to the web.
